Description
PHMG (full name: polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride) is cationic polymer bactericide based on guanidine salts, and it is already proved to be a broad spectrum, fast-acting and long-acting. PHMG is very very safe for using as disinfectant and sanitizer.

How PHMG works
PHMG is high molecular polymer, and its hydrophilic group is with strong positive charge when ionized in water. Bacteria is mostly with negative charge and will be absorbed by PHMG, which will inhibit the liposome synthesis of bacteria’s cell membrane to control cell division and finally kill the bacteria. This is why PHMG is more safe than other disinfectants based on chlorine.

Compatibility
1) Effective and stable at pH 2 - 11.
2) Compatible with non-ionic surfactant, cellulose thickner, glycol, glycol ether, most of strong acids and common chelating agents such as EDTA, NTA.
3) Limited compatibility with anionic surfactant, strong alkali, complex phosphates and strong oxidizers.
Cautions
Do not use PHMG together with anionic detergent.
