Description
PHMB (full name: Polyhexamethylenebiguanide hydrochloride) is cationic polymer bactericide based on guanidine salts, and it is already proved to be a broad spectrum, fast-acting and long-acting. PHMB is very very safe for using as disinfectant and sanitizer.
How PHMB works
PHMB is high molecular polymer, and its hydrophilic group is with strong positive charge when ionized in water. Bacteria is mostly with negative charge and will be absorbed by PHMB, which will inhibit the liposome synthesis of bacteria’s cell membrane to control cell division and finally kill the bacteria.

Compatibility
① Effective and stable at pH 1 - 11.
② Compatible with non-ionic surfactant, cellulose thickner, glycol, glycol ether, most of strong acids and common chelating agent such as EDTA, NTA.
③Limited compatible with anionic surfactant, strong alkali, complex phosphates and strong oxidizers.
Cautions
Do not use PHMB together with anionic detergent.
